Movement and Play is the concept from which Carosello was born, our new project presented at EDIT Napoli, the Fair created to support and promote signature design.
A line of ceramic objects created with the aim of celebrating ice cream on the table, like a real haute patisserie dessert, introducing a playful and engaging ritual that ignites emotions linked to childhood.
The large bowl, which serves as a tray, contains cups in the center that are diversified by colorful details. Featuring an embattled shell in a sequence of cavities, it accommodates many wafer cones to be freely composed as in a carousel of colors.
The central cylinder inside the bowl can hold a jar of ice cream, to be kept at the right temperature by spreading a layer of ice on the bottom.
The scoop is designed to accompany the filling with ice cream of cones and cups; the ergonomic handle makes it easy to use and hold.
The cups, diversified from each other through colorful recalls, are designed to accommodate about 100 g of ice cream with an edge for easy filling to freely match the spoons.
It was created for Eleit.it by a collaboration between journalist and cookbook author Alba Pezone and designer & self-artisan Arianna De Luca, two proud supporters of Italian culture.
Arianna has brought her research and connection to the land and its tradition, transferring them to the present in a coherent and personal way that is pop, bold and colorful. Alba generously shared more than 25 years of experience in promoting Made in Italy gastronomic culture between Italy and France.
Carosello espouses our philosophy of proposing innovative and sustainable solutions designed to last, inviting a reduction in the use of synthetic materials for ice cream consumption. Handmade from clay, it produces no waste, as any processing waste can be remixed and reused.
SUGGESTED RITUAL
- Pull the cups out of the center of the bowl and insert whatever you like inside: a jar filled with ice cream, ice, fresh or dried fruit, seeds or chocolate;
- Remember to insert spoons, scoop and, most importantly, waffle cones inside the cavities.
- Bring to the table and compose your dessert freely..
In the beautiful Sala dei Catasti of the Archivio di Stato, which served as an extraordinary setting for our set-up, we also had, as always, the opportunity to get together and recount our journey together.
